Your collection schedule for trash, recycling and yard waste can be found in a few places.
Trash being missed can happen for a few reasons.
**Again, please note that all missed service must be reported within 24 hours in order to have a driver sent back for collection. If missed service is reported after the first 24 hours, carts will not be collected until your next regularly scheduled collection day.
Please call the CART office and press option 1 to have a staff member set-up an account for you. Prior to calling, please feel free to checkout the different cart sizes and services available to decide which one would be best for your household and amount of trash consumption here.
Each CART customer is allowed one free trash collection service change per quarter (every three months). If you want to change your service after you have used your free switch, then it will cost $35.00. To make this collection service change, call the CART office and select option 1.
If your trash cart has been repossessed as a result of neglecting to pay your trash collection service bill, call the CART office. Staff will inform you of how much it will cost to restart your service to receive your cart back.
If your cart is broken or misplaced, please call the CART office who will be able to assess your situation and necessarily assist you.
Hazardous waste can never be placed in your trash cart. Instead, it needs to be disposed at the Ingham County Health Department. The Health Department offers free collection of substances such as the following:

The most probable reason that your cart disappeared is because it was repossessed. This means that CART took the cart back as a result of a trash bill not being paid. To re-obtain your cart, please call the CART office at (517) 483-4400.
