Recycling can be missed for a few reasons.
Due to COVID-19, no additional items that are not securely contained in the green recycling cart will be picked up. Find additional information regarding this here.
Please note: Under normal circumstances, excess materials will be picked up if they are placed in a brown paper grocery bag or cardboard box next to your cart.
If you are in need of a recycling cart, please call the CART office at (517) 483-4400 and select option 1.
Simply leave the cart at the property for the next resident to use.
If the cart has been at the curbside for over 24 hours, you can:
Plastic grocery bags are accepted by local retailers such as Walmart, Target and Kroger.
Since lightbulbs, both CFL and LED, are not allowed to be placed in your recycling cart, they can be taken to specific drop-off locations.

Many facilities that change oil and auto dealerships accept vehicle oil. You can also contact the Ingham County Health Department - Environmental Health Division at (517) 887-4312 to find out if and when they are accepting oil or recycling.
