Michigan Auto Insurance March Travel Lane Restrictions

The City of Lansing Public Service Department announces the following vehicular travel restrictions will be in effect on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 to accommodate the Michigan Auto Insurance Promise March and Rally.
Lane restrictions will occur beginning around 9:30 a.m.:
  • The northern most westbound travel on Michigan Avenue between Museum Drive and Grand Avenue.
  • The western most travel lanes on Grand Avenue between Washtenaw Street and Michigan Avenue.
  • The eastern most travel lanes on Capitol Avenue between Ionia Street and Ottawa Street
The March is scheduled to step off at 10:45 a.m. traveling from the Lansing Center to the State Capitol closing EB Michigan Avenue to vehicular traffic for approximately 20 to 30 minutes. Along with restricting Capitol Avenue vehicular traffic between Ottawa Street and Michigan Avenue during the march.
Local access will be maintained to all area businesses.
Motorist are advised to anticipate delays or find alternate route between 10:40 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.
