The City of Lansing Public Services Department announces the following lane restrictions to accommodate the Lansing Board of Water and Light (LBWL) Hometown 5K to be held on Saturday, August 10, 2019 
LBWL will be hosting this event at the cogeneration facility on south Washington Avenue in REO Town. City crews will begin setting lane restrictions to accommodate the Hometown 5K route around 7:00 a.m.
With the exception of the start of the race, vehicular traffic on City streets will be maintained with minimal delays during this event.
For the start of the 5K, southbound Washington Avenue will be closed from Elm Street to Baker Street from approximately 8:45 a.m. to 9:15 a.m.
The route will have participants starting on Washington Avenue and traveling south to Moores River Drive, traveling west on Moores River Drive to Hess Avenue, north on Hess Avenue to Britten Avenue, east on Britten Avenue to Moores River Drive north on Moores River Drive to Moores River Road, east on Moores River Road to the River Trail on the north side of Moores River Park. The participants will then follow the River Trail to the intersection of Elm Street and Beech Street where the participants will leave the River Trail to access Beech Street. Participants will travel south on Beech Street to South Street, west on South Street to the eastern most drive of the LBWL cogeneration plant and to the finish line inside the LBWL complex. All travel restrictions should be removed by 11:30 a.m.
