Street Closings and Lane Restrictions for the Juneteenth Parade
The City of Lansing Public Service Department announces the following vehicular travel restrictions and street closures to accommodate the Juneteenth Parade on Saturday June 15.
The Parade is scheduled to step off at 10:00 a.m. from the Letts Community Center Parking Lots on W. Kalamazoo Street. The Parade will travel west on Kalamazoo Street to Hillsdale Street, south Hillsdale Street to Heather Lane south on Heather Lane to the St Joseph Park entrance and enter the park for disbursing. The below scheduled times and locations are estimated and may vary. Street closures will be in effect between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
Riddle Street between Kingsley Ct and Kalamazoo Street for Parade Staging. Streets to have vehicular travel restrictions between 8:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
Huron Street between Lenawee Street and Washtenaw Street,
Jenison Street between Lenawee Street and Washtenaw Street,
West Street between Lenawee Street and Washtenaw Street,
Everett Drive between Lenawee Street and Kalamazoo Street,
McPherson Avenue between Lenawee Street and Washtenaw Street,
Verlinden Avenue between Lenawee Street and Kalamazoo Street,
Lenawee Street between Verlinden Avenue and Kalamazoo Street,
Hillsdale Street between Verlinden Drive and Kalamazoo Street,
Heather Lane between St Joseph Street and St Joseph Park Entrance. Streets closures will be in effect between 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
Kalamazoo Street between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Hillsdale Street,
Hillsdale Street between Kalamazoo Street and Heather Lane,
Heather Lane between Hillsdale Street and St Joseph Park entrance.
If access within the parade route is needed there will be Lansing Police Department (LPD) personnel and/or LPD authorized personnel located at the intersections to help guide motorist safely to their destinations with minimal delays.
