Beech Street and E. Elm Street to be Closed for Utility Work
The City of Lansing Public Service Department announces that on Thursday, July 30, 2020, Beech Street (between Hazel Street and Elm Street) and E. Elm Street (between S. Cedar Street and Beech Street) will be intermittently closed to through traffic due to sewer work in the Beech Street/Elm Street intersection.
These intermittent road closures are expected to last two (2) to three (3) weeks.
Access to local area residences within the project area will be maintained throughout the duration of the work.
Detours will be provided as follows.
Northbound Beech Street Detour (from the Beech Street Bridge):
- West on E. Elm St. to S. Cedar St.
- North on S. Cedar St. to Hazel St.
- East on Hazel St. to Beech St.
Southbound Beech Street Detour (from Hazel Street):
- West on Hazel St. to Cedar St.
- North on Cedar St. to the turnaround/loop (loop located north of I-496)
- South on Cedar St. to Hazel St.
Eastbound Elm Street Detour:
- North on Cedar St. to Hazel St.
- East on Hazel St.
Drivers are advised to expect delays and to seek alternate routes.
