We regret to inform you that your Lansing Small Business Recovery Program COVID-19 Rescue Fund application was not selected to receive a phase two COVID-19 Rescue Fund grant.
Your business was found to be ineligible for a COVID-19 Rescue Fund grant award because the City of Lansing’s Treasury and Income Tax Office determined you or your business have an outstanding obligation(s) to the City of Lansing. As a condition of eligibility for all city business assistance programs, applicant businesses and any person with 20% or greater ownership interest in the business must not have any obligations to the City of Lansing, including any delinquent or late property and income taxes.
Any questions regarding outstanding obligation and how to resolve this finding should be directed to the city of Lansing Treasury and Income Tax Office at (517) 483-4121 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Due to the large volume of applications, we are unable to respond to inquiries about specific applications. While the COVID-19 Rescue Fund is a substantial investment in Lansing’s business community, we fully recognize it is not nearly enough to address the funding needs our small businesses during this challenging time.
The City of Lansing and LEDC expect to have further rounds of grants available soon as part of the Small Business Recovery Program utilizing Community Development Block Grant funds. As soon as additional information regarding further grants becomes available, we will share it with you via email. We encourage you to return to www.lansingmi.gov/smallbusiness for updates regarding future phases of the Lansing Small Business Recovery Program, as well as links to other potential funding sources that may be available to you. Application resources will also continue to be provided to ensure that all small businesses have access to technical assistance in developing their application through Local Resource Partner contacts.
We will use the contact information provided in your application to proactively connect you with additional funding opportunities through the City of Lansing, the Lansing Economic Development Corporation (LEDC) or other community organizations as we become aware of them. As a reminder, application information that you supplied to us related to the grant program may eventually be accessible to the public or press by way of a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.
The City of Lansing and the LEDC recognize the importance of Lansing’s small businesses in shaping Lansing’s community and character. Supporting small businesses, including your business, will continue to be a priority. We know that many businesses are struggling due to the COVID-19 pandemic and we are fully committed to working with businesses to overcome these challenges.
Thank you for your application. The City of Lansing and the LEDC are working hard to explore other support opportunities and will continue to engage with you.
