The City of Lansing will be collecting Christmas trees beginning the week of January 6, 2020, and through the week of January 13, 2020.
The last day to put Christmas trees at the curbside during the week of January 13, 2020, varies for each resident based on their designated collection day. For example, if a resident’s collection day is regularly on Wednesday, then of that week, January 15, 2020, is the last day their trees will be collected.
Trees should be free of plastic bags, metal and ornaments. Additionally, trees that are 6-feet in length or longer MUST be cut in half in order to be picked up.
Only trees will be collected during this time; leaves and other yard waste materials will not be accepted.
To assist in the collection process in the event of snow, residents are encouraged to place trees on top of snow banks. Likewise, as much snow as possible should be removed from the trees so that City drivers can see them during pickup.
