Lansing Trick or Treating Set for 6-8pm

Mayor Virg Bernero today announced that the official hours for tomorrow night’s Halloween Trick or Treating are from 6pm until 8pm in the City of Lansing.

At this time there is no rain in the forecast for Tuesday night, but temperatures are expected to be in the high 30s to low 40s, so children should be dressed appropriately for a chilly (and spooky) evening.

Parents and youngsters should also take heed of the Lansing Police Department’s tips for a safe and enjoyable Halloween:

▪ When possible, trick-or-treat in a familiar neighborhood.
▪ Younger children should be accompanied by an adult.
▪ Older children should take friends – travel with a group.
▪ Wear reflective clothing and/or carry a flashlight or glow stick.
▪ Remind children not to enter a stranger’s house or vehicle.
▪ Parents should set a time limit for older children to return.
▪ Have an adult inspect all candy prior to consuming.
