A pink placard is used only on rental properties that do not have a valid Certificate of Compliance issued by our office. This may be because the property is not registered as a rental or our office has done an inspection and the owner has failed to comply with the necessary repairs.
While the pink does state that there will be a date that the property may be vacated, this date can be extended by request of the owner.
Occupants may pay rent into an escrow account when a Certificate of Compliance does not exist. Contact an attorney to learn about this process.
