Capital Area Recycling & Trash (CART) provides convenient collection of recycling, trash, and yard waste for the residents of the City of Lansing. CART also offers a variety of education and outreach opportunities, special events and other community activities.

The mission of CART is to provide an efficient recycling, yard waste, and refuse collection system, which encourages environmentally-responsible behavior.  This behavior is learned through consistent outreach efforts, as well as continuous community-based educational activities. These sustainable practices contribute to a cleaner and healthier environment, which ultimately enhances the quality of life for those who live and work in the City of Lansing.
