Curbside Collection of Yard Waste

Curbside collection of yard waste resumed again for the season in early May; however, due to the large amount of yard waste that was already at the curbside and the late start to the season because of COVID-19, collection has been slower than usual.

To accommodate this, CART has temporarily transitioned to "every other week" collection, which started in mid-June 2020. This means that going forward until the fall, yard waste collection will be on the same day as residents' recycling collection.

Lansing values recycling and is excited to team up with the recycling raccoons to help encourage and educate the community on how to best practice sustainability.

Simple Recycling

In response to the State of Michigan's Executive Order regarding COVID-19, Simple Recycling, which collects clothing and other household items curbside (in orange bags provided by the company), has suspended collection until further notice.

When the City of Lansing has received updates, residents will be notified. In the meantime, please call Simple Recycling at 866-835-5068 and request "Michigan" for additional information.

NOTE: This is not the City's recycling (green carts), which is still operating.
