The overarching goals of the Saginaw Street Corridor Improvement Authority are economic and neighborhood development. More specifically, the authority intends to improve three primary areas of the Saginaw Corridor. They are:
These three changes will stimulate economic growth, encourage redevelopment and private investment in existing buildings and business, and improve both vehicular and pedestrian access to businesses located within the Saginaw Corridor.
The Board shall consist of the Mayor or his or her assignee, and 7 additional members. Members shall be appointed by the Mayor, subject to approval by the City Council. Not less than a majority of the members shall
be persons having ownership or business interest in property located in the Development Area. Not less than 1 of the members shall be a resident of the Development Area, or of an area within ½ mile of any part of the Development Area. Members shall be appointed to serve for a term of 4 years. Members of the Board shall serve without compensation, but shall be reimbursed for actual and necessary expenses.
