Transportation & Non-Motorized Work Group

The Transportation and Non-Motorized work group is responsible for traffic operations in the City.  Major functions include the installation and maintenance of traffic signs, signals and pavement markings and collection of traffic counts. The group also administers grants, provides geometric design recommendation for roadway projects, provides design of traffic control for construction, and designs and provides traffic control for special events. In addition, the Transportation and Non-Motorized work group is responsible for coordination of the City’s sidewalk repair and maintenance program and its neighborhood study and traffic calming programs as well as providing Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) support for the Public Service Department.
