Station 42

2114 N. Grand River

This station was erected in 1962 and houses Engine 42.  Engine 42 specializes in extrication and carries a wide variety of tools, including the Jaws of Life. Station 42 also houses a boat with ice and water rescue equipment.

Station 42's first due area is large and diverse. There are many industrial plants and buildings as well as old and established neighborhoods. Among our first due response area are: Dodge Mansion, Old Town, Otto Junior High School, Demmer plants, Ashland Chemical, Consumers Energy, State of Michigan Records, and State museums storage and warehouse. Station 42 also covers Capital City Airport for fire and EMS runs.
