2008 Calendar
Holidays and Important Dates to Remember

Collection for City observed holidays and the rest of the week following the holiday will be delayed by one day. Friday collections will take place on Saturday. For more information, call the Waste Reduction Services Hotline at 483-4400 or email recycle@ci.lansing.mi.us.

FEBRUARY

  • Normal Service Schedule

MARCH

  • 13-16 - Home & Garden Show at the MSU Pavilion.  Bring in old books, athletic shoes, phone books, batteries and cell phones for recycling.  Visit our booth for recycling and composting information. 

  • 21 - Good Friday.  Office closed.  Friday collections will be delayed until Saturday.


APRIL

  • 5 - Book Recycling Event Collection.  Click here for more details.

  • 14 - Seasonal yard waste collection begins.  If necessary and weather permits, collections could begin the week of the 7th.

  • 22 - Earth Day Event at City Hall.  Click here for more details.  

  • 29 - Master Composter Class begins.  Click here for more details.


MAY

  • 3 - Computer & Electronics Recycling event.  Click here for more details. 

  • 26 - Memorial Day.  Office closed.  Collections the week of the  26th will be delayed by one day.


JUNE

  • Normal Service Schedule 


JULY

  • 4 - Independence Day.  Office closed.  Friday collections will be delayed by one day.

  • 7-13  - Common Ground Music Festival.  Visit our booth for recycling information and free giveaways!


AUGUST

  • 1 - Labor Day.  Office closed.  Collections the week of the 1st  will be delayed by one day
