Captain Daryl Green has been with the Lansing Police Department (LPD) since 1997 and was promoted to the rank of Captain in February of 2012. Captain Green is the Commander of the following divisions; Investigations Division, Special Operations Section (SOS), Detention Center, Property and Supply Unit, Crime Scene Investigations Unit, Crime Analysis Unit, Dive Team and the Special Tactics and Rescue Team (S.T.A.R.T).
Captain Green has worked extensively in the patrol division as a Police Officer. Captain Green further held positions as a Community Police Officer, Field Training Officer, and Background Investigator before serving a short stint in the Detective Bureau before his 2005 promotion to Sergeant. As a Sergeant, Green was assigned to the Patrol Division, Detention Center, and the Property and Supply Unit. Captain Green was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 2010 and held positions in the Office of Internal Affairs and as the Executive Lieutenant assigned to the Patrol Division.
Captain Green holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Temple University and a Master of Science Degree from Michigan State University. Captain Green is further pursuing a Doctoral Degree in Public Administration from Western Michigan State University. Captain Green is a veteran of the United States Navy and is currently serving in the United States Navy Reserve as a Naval Officer.
