DR. SONYA GUNNINGS-MOTON

Dr. Gunnings-Moton is Assistant to the Dean for Special Projects in the College of Education at Michigan State University, and a faculty member of Counseling Psychology. She earned her BS degree from Northwestern University, and her MA and Ph.D. from Michigan State University. Dr. Gunnings-Moton brings a wealth of experience in K-12, Higher Education and Business collaboratives, with a focus on school reform and restructuring initiatives. She has served on numerous executive boards, including the Michigan Young Educators Society. Dr. Gunnings-Moton is well known in the field of multicultural counseling psychology. She has served as Associate Editor of the Journal of Multicultural Counseling and Development, and developed and disseminated training materials addressing urban students as learners. She has been involved in a number of civic organizations.
