Ms. Jill Campbell
Counselor Riddle Magnet School
Currently I am a counselor at the Riddle Magnet School for the Visual and Performing Arts. I have been a counselor in the Lansing School District for the past 15 years. I have served and counseled kids and families at Sexton, Gardner, Everett, Dwight Rich and my current position. I love my job and I love the challenge of both our neediest and our most gifted kids---sometimes recognizing that they are one and the same.
I have served as the Chairperson for the Counseling Steering Committee for 10 years and helped our counselors to develop our current program Comprehensive Guidance and Counseling Program
For the year 1999-2000 I was named the Counselor of the Year for the State of MIchigan. I've won numerous other awards---but they are all because I care about kids.
I am an instructor in the Psychology Dept. at Lansing Community College and have been there for approximately 17 years. I teach upper level Psychology courses.
I have published a deck of cards "Esteem Architecture" to help build kids and families self-esteem which is a key ingredient in their success. I am also author of two books: Lightning Bolts to Light Bulbs and Anger:questions and Quotes. They are both part of an Anger Management program, hands-on, easy to use, but with deep learning, for middle and high school students.
I am a licensed psychologist and have been for the past 20 years.
I am also very happy to serve on the Board of the H.O.P.E. scholarship since it's primary objective to is to change kids in a positive way. that is an integral part of my life's goals.
