Welcome
to the City of Lansing's
IPACE Project website. IPACE is an acronym for roads in the project
area including the I-96 interchange area, Pennsylvania Avenue, American Road,
Cedar Street,
and Edgewood Boulevard.
The purpose of this site is to provide information on the project and give
updates as the project progresses. We encourage you to visit the site
often for current project information, schedules of public meetings, and
other project milestones.
Project
Goals
The
City of Lansing,
in cooperation with the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), and
the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) is conducting a study of the
IPACE Area. The main goals of the project are to:
- Evaluate current and future traffic
operations and identify problems
- Develop road improvement options to improve
and simplify circulation patterns, traffic operations, and safety
- Encourage economic development and
redevelopment in the area
- Create an attractive gateway into the
southern part of the City
Location
The project area is focused around the I-96 interchange with Cedar Street
and Pennsylvania Avenue
on the south side of the City of Lansing.
The project is generally bordered by Miller Road on the north and the I-96
overpass of Cedar Street
to the south. Other streets within the project area include Edgewood Boulevard
and American Road.
