PARKING ON STREET PRESS RELEASE (February 7, 2013)
South Capitol Parking Ramp
The Capitol Avenue exit booth has been removed and a new Pay-In-Lane machine installed in its place. New highly visible LED signage has been installed to assist parkers at this exit. Parkers may now use either lane to exit with a permit, the left lane to exit via credit card payment and the right lane with cash or credit card payment. The Townsend exit (throughLot 3) may be used by permit holders and also has new LED signage identifying this exit as a credit card payment exit.
South Capitol Parking Ramp Back Lot (Lot3)
The lot is open and available for use as an entry to the South Capitol Ramp and/or for surface parking. The project is very close to complete, but a few items – mostly landscape items – remain to be finished in warmer weather.
Lot1 – Former BoarsHead Site
A bid has been accepted for demolition of the former Arts Council/BoarsHead facility. Work will begin here within the next couple weeks. This project is designed to minimize the impact on permit parkers at this lot. Parkers will be notified if it becomes necessary to temporarily relocate them.
Lot49 Expansion – Yellow Cab Site
Demolition of the former Yellow Cab building is well underway. Work will conclude here in the next couple weeks. This work will not effect permit parkers in Lot 49.
