Awards
The Lansing Historic District Commission (LHDC) has been recognizing businesses and individuals who rehabilitate historic buildings in a manner that respects the architectural and historic character of the structure since 1998. The commission has presented preservation awards in conjunction with their annual reception and exhibit. Impression 5 Science Center, at 200 Museum Drive, has collaboratively sponsored the celebration and exhibit for the past five years. Currently two LHDC shows are on exhibit at the center until April 2004: the preservation awards and a display of properties associated with Lansing's early automobile heritage.
The Lansing Historic District Commission invites nominations for preservation awards throughout the year, until February 1st. Rehabilitation or restoration work must have been completed within one year prior to the awards presentations. For more information or to nominate a property please contact the Planning Office at (517) 483-4066.
