"Lead Safe Lansing" - Program Requirements
Owner Occupants:

You own and occupy your single-family home as your sole place of residence.

A child under 6 years old lives in the home.

The home was constructed before 1978
-
The home is not in the 100 year flood plain.

House payments, homeowner's insurance, and property taxes are current.

Total household income may not be greater than the income guidelines listed on the back of this brochure.

Must agree to a 3 year commitment to live in the home, after which the Lead Safe Lansing loan is forgiven.

A minimum 25% match is required. The Development Office can help you qualify for the match under other programs.
Rental Property Owners:

Demonstrate Proof of Ownership

House payments, homeowner's insurance, and property taxes must be current.

Unit must be currently registered with Code Compliance

Landlord and/or maintenance workers must agree to participate in a Safe Work Practice Training Class.

Unit must have been constructed prior to 1978 and have at least 1 bedroom.

Tenants income may not be greater than income guidelines listed on the back of this brochure.

Must agree to a 3 year commitment to actively market completed units to families with small children.

VACANT RENTAL UNITS MAY ALSO QUALIFY!
The Lead Safe Lansing program will be able to address vacant at-risk rental housing units with 2 or more bedrooms.
Rental property owners must agree to a 3-year commitment to affirmatively market to families with small children. Tenant income guidelines apply.
