Meet the Sports Staff -
Mark Simon:
Mark graduated from Olivet College with a Recreation Management major. While at Olivet, he played on the soccer and tennis teams and formed many close friendships that now extend across the country.
Mark worked for the Boys & Girls Club of Lansing for many years before working as a Community Center Programmer at Letts' Center. He now sees the children of his 'B&G Club and Letts kids' involved with the city's youth sports programs.
Mark is a high school and college basketball referee and is a member of the Capital Area Official Association (CAOA).
Mark has lived in Lansing for 22 years and enjoys a wide variety of sports played by his family, which includes his wife, Trish, and sons, Jake & Mitch.
Troy Stowell:
Troy is a 1996 Graduate of Lansing Everett High School (Go Vikings!), and a 2001 Graduate of Central Michigan University (Go Chips!). After graduating college with degrees in Commercial and Community Recreation, Troy Began his career in Battle Creek where he was in charge of a variety of youth and adult sports leagues, special events and World Series caliber baseball tournaments for youth and adults.
Troy is a registered High School umpire. And is currently the Chairman of the Michigan Recreation and Park Association's Athletic Committee, where he also serves as commissioner for the Adult Volleyball State Tournaments.
Troy enjoys sports, CMU and Michigan State athletics, and spending time with his wife Rebecca and daughter Ava.
