Catch a Fish

What is the importance of Fishing?

The importance of this right is to introduce, or bring youth back to an environment that is filled with nature and living things. Going fishing in a lake, pond, stream, or any other body of water can teach kids about the science of the outdoors. Being in a boat or on the shore, kids can also learn about water safety and what precautions need to be followed. The listed programs below are a few ways that we as a parks department can offer this experience to our youth.

Summer 2009 programs and activities that qualify for the Outdoor Bill of Rights:

  • Fish Camp
  • Fishing and Boating
  • Lunker Derby
  • Hawk Island Field Trip
