The mission of the Parks and Recreation Department is to enhance the quality of life through the preservation and maintenance of park lands, the provision of quality leisure time activities, and the provision of special facilities which would otherwise not be available to the Lansing residents.

Our vision is to create community through people, parks and programs. Our goal is to provide you with the easiest and most convenient way to experience your Lansing Parks and Recreation Department. The First Tee of Mid-Michigan held its first session May 13, 2008 at Sycamore Golf Facility.
Over thirty five (35) young golfers received their first lesson in everyday life skills and golfing techniques after registering for The First Tee of Mid-Michigan youth golfing program. The first session is currently underway with three more sessions available for young golfers interested in the game.
