Parks and Recreation

From the Director's Desk.....

Our Lansing Department of Parks and Recreation is a collection of 114 parks totaling over 2,300 acres of land.  Each park is unique in its own special way.  Some parks are considered neighborhood parks, such as Averill Park on the south side of Lansing, while others are larger regional parks such as Frances or Gier Parks.   And beauty can be found in everyone.  We invite you enjoy the photography of Victor Nelhiebal, a local landscape architect and graphic designer who has captured through his lens the beauty of Lansing’s parks.  Please click here to view his gallery of photos.
