Live Green Lansing back

Live Green Pledge

I pledge to take the following actions to help make Lansing a healthier, greener place to live, work and play.

I will...

Reduce the amount of waste that my household generates.

The City of Lansing's cartdev program has made recycling easier than ever! With their convenient, single-stream system you can throw all your recyclables into one bin and place it at the curb for pickup. Try composting your food scraps to make healthy soil for your garden!

Use energy efficient lighting and appliances in my home wherever possible.

The Lansing Board of Water & Light Hometown Energy Savers® program provides rebates and in-store discounts for purchasing energy efficient appliances, lighting and heating and cooling equipment.

Strive to use a Clean Commute option whenever possible.

CATA's Clean Commute program makes it easy to bus, carpool, bike, walk or vanpool. They'll even guarantee you a ride home through their Emergency Ride Home Program!

Get involved!

Lansing area residents and organizations are doing great things to improve the environment and make our region cleaner and greener. Help us spread the word by volunteering at events or service projects and join the online conversation on Facebook and Twitter.
