The Public Service Department provides environmental protection and civil engineering services for the Lansing area. The department maintains the City's daily operations and works to perform engineering studies and services to promote city development. These essential services help to preserve a good quality of life for all residents.

The Public Service Department is divided into three operational divisions; Operations and Maintenance (O&M), Engineering, and Wastewater Systems. O&M also includes the Waste Reduction Services Office, which handles refuse and recycling issues.

Operations and Maintenance Division
The Operations and Maintenance Division (O&M) provides many services to Lansing neighborhoods including street and surface maintenance, right-of-way maintenance, sanitary and storm sewer maintenance and snow removal. For more information on division services, visit the O&M website.

Waste Reduction Services Office
The Waste Reduction Services Offices provides garbage pickup and disposal, recycling services and yard waste disposal services for the citizens of Lansing.
