Work schedule could include weekend and evening hours, must be flexible. Current certification; lifeguard training, standard first aid and CPR for the professional rescuer.
Must be at least 16 years of age. Previous lifeguard experience helpful.

This position requires the ability to: swim, walk, run, throw, speak, hear, sit, stand, stoop, lift ten (10) lbs regularly and forty (40) lbs or more occasionally, carry, bend , twist, reach, jump from a lifeguard chair and pool deck, dive, ability to move quickly, blow a whistle, visual acuity, manual dexterity, and grasping.
Responsible for providing a safe, enjoyable experience for the general public. Monitors the safety of patrons at the City's outdoor pool facilities and indoor aquatics programs. Responsible for the safety of the patrons in the swimming pool, locker rooms, and deck areas. Promotes positive public relations. Makes periodic tests of water in the pool as assigned. Documents rescues and unusual happenings. Assists with and conducts swimming classes as necessary. Assists with special events. Attends and participation in staff trainings, in-services, and testing sessions. Performs rescues and applying CPR and first aid when necessary. Performs periodic cleaning at the facility to include clean-up of bodily fluids.
This position requires all necessary Lifeguard certifications.
