Fire Department back

Individuals & Families

On a normal day Lansing police and fire respond to a 911 call within 5 minutes. During a disaster police and firefighters may be delayed for hours, or even days.

It is easy to take things like rapid response, water, electricity and phone service for granted. In a disaster some or all of those things might not be there. Everyone should be prepared to stay in their homes for 72 hours (3 days) without help. The links below should help you prepare your family for whatever happens.
