Lansing Remembers 9/11
Join the City of Lansing in remembering and honoring 9/11. A procession will leave from the Lansing Center at 8:30 a.m. and will assemble around the 9/11 Memorial Monument at Wentworth Park for prayer, presentation of wreaths and selected speakers.
Annual Ramadan Unity Dinner
Mayors Virg Bernero and Nathan Triplett welcome you to the 9th Annual Mayors' Ramadan Unity Dinner. The dinner will be held on Friday, September 18th, 2015, at the Lansing Center from 6-9:30PM. Proceeds will be contributed to the Greater Lansing Food Bank.
The 2 millionth vehicle, a 2016 Buick Enclave, built at General Motors's Lansing Delta Township Plant rolled off the production line on Friday, August 14th, 2015. This impressive milestone was made possible by our dedicated GM UAW workforce.
FREE, fresh, non-perishable food items will be distributed by the City of Lansing Human Relations & Community Services Department & the Greater Lansing Food Bank on Saturday, September 19, 2015 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the Plymouth Congregational 2001 E. Grand River Ave., Lansing, MI 48911.
Lansing and East Lansing have reached agreement on a new regional partnership that will bring the two community’s recycling operations closer together. East Lansing will contract with Lansing for the use of Lansing's recycling transfer station, hauling operations and cooperative use of the MRF.
The City of Lansing is proud to have joined The AARP Network of Age-Friendly Communities! Lansing is only one of three cities in Michigan to have joined this network.
The Lansing Police Department will be testing several different models of body-worn cameras on a trial basis to determine the best technology for the Lansing officers. Full deployment for this project is expected in late fall of this year.
