Mayor Virg Bernero joined Lansing School District Superintendent Yvonne Caamal Canul and MSUFCU Chief Operating Officer April Clobes for the launch of Lansing SAVE – Student Accounts Valuing Education – a new program providing education savings accounts for kindergarteners in Lansing schools.

Lansing's monthly Mobile Food Pantry will be held at Plymouth Congregational Church on Saturday, March 21 from 9:00-11:00 AM. The HRCS Department will be distributing free, non-perishable food items. Participants must bring a valid ID and a box or bag to carry the items.
As part of a City/Lansing School District partnership against bullying, the Mayor established the "Upstander Awards" program to recognize students who meet established criteria like peacefully standing up to bullying. The awards will include small scholarships, which are being funded online.
