Fire Suppression

About Fire Suppression Division

On average Lansing Fire responds to an incident about every half hour, twenty-four hours a day, three hundred and sixty five days a year. That was over 14,500 runs in 2005.

Create an Escape Plan

During a fire, there's no time for planning. Sit down with your family and create a plan for escaping from a fire.

In Case of Fire

In case of fire, don't stop for anything. Do not try to rescue possessions or pets. Go directly to your meeting place and then call the fire department from a neighbor's phone or an alarm box.

After the Fire

Recovering from a fire can be a physically and mentally draining process. When fire strikes, lives are suddenly turned around. Often, the hardest part is knowing where to begin and who to contact.
