The City of Lansing Defined Benefit Plan (DB) provides a lifetime retirement benefit funded by the employee and employer. This plan is open to all full-time permanent employees.
Deferred Compensation
The City of Lansing Deferred Compensation (457 plan) offers a supplement retirement saving plan that provides an individual account for each participant. The benefits of the individual account at retirement are based on the amount of contributions from the employee and the growth on investment performance earning chosen by each individual. This plan is open to all employees through payroll deduction.

The benefits of the individual account at retirement are based on the amount of contributions from both the employee and employer and the growth of the investment performance earnings chosen by each individual. This plan is only open to elected officials.
