Application Process

Application Process for Police Officer 1

Each applicant much successfully complete the following:

  1. M.C.O.L.E.S. {Michigan Council on Law Enforcement Standards} reading/writing { A or B band only} and physical agility test.
  2. Submit fully completed and notarized application for screening.
  3. Personal History Questionnaire and review.
  4. Personality Assessment Test and review.
  5. Oral board examination.
  6. Thorough background investigation.
  7. Psychological exam and review.
  8. Complete physical exam.

Most of the applicants hired are either M.C.O.L.E.S. certified or are currently employed as a sworn officer in Michigan or another state.
