Background

What does Crime Stoppers do?

Crime Stoppers of Mid Michigan assists law enforcement agencies by publicizing serious crimes and gathering tips and other information about them from the public. To encourage Citizen Witnesses to come forward with information, Crime Stoppers provides an anonymous tip line and rewards of up to $1,000.

How does it work?

Call 517-483-STOP (7867) anytime or Leave a Web Tip online.  When you call 517 483-STOP (7867). You will speak with a police officer assigned to Crime Stoppers. The call is confidential. There isn't Caller-ID on the line, and they won't try to find out who you are.

Instead of your name the officer will give you a private Tip Number. Information is taken and passed to the appropriate law enforcement agency.  Within a month, when you call to see if there is a reward for you, the Tip Number is all you need to identify yourself and collect your reward.

We do not accept e-mail tips through this site. You must call the Crime Stoppers number, listed above. This is in order to protect your anonymity.

One Thousand DOLLARS?!?!

Rewards are paid for any tip leading to an arrest in any felony crime in Mid Michigan. The amount of a reward is decided by the Crime Stoppers of Mid Michigan Board of Directors, and is based on the severity of the crime involved and the usefulness of the tip leading to an arrest.  All rewards are paid out of funds collected through donations by individuals and businesses.
