Tina Houghton
My husband, Brian, and I have owned and lived in the same home in Lansing’s southside for over 20 years. We have four children—two currently attend Lansing Schools. The older two have already graduated and are now enrolled in Lansing Community College.
I have worked at Michigan State University for more than 13 years. Currently, I am a student services coordinator, a liaison between MSU students and many local agencies. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a minor in International Business from Northwood University.
My community involvement includes:
- PTA Board President – Pennway Preschool and North Elementary School
- PTA Board Member – Gardner Middle School, and Everett High School
- Founder of Lansing Stars Athletic Club, Board Member of Lansing Soccer Club and Everett Soccer Boosters
- Southside Community Center Citizen Action Team Member
- Lansing Parks Board Member
- Girl Scout Leader for over 15 years
- Co-Chair, Able to Play Playground Community Build Project at North Elementary School
- Youth Athletic Coach for over 15 years (volleyball, floor hockey, soccer, softball, and baseball)
