Sandy Allen is serving her fourth term with the Lansing City Council.  She is often referred to as a "hands-on" council member; painting houses for Habitat for Humanity, participating in trash pick-ups in the 2nd Ward, planting flowers, performing for charitable fundraisers, cleaning drains in the 2nd Ward with the Ingham County Drain Commissioner, and mentoring in the Lansing schools.

Sandy has been a strong advocate for youth, having implemented a "Youth in Government Day" at City Hall for high school government students.

Sandy Allen is a life long resident of Lansing having attended Eastern High School, Lansing Community College, and Michigan State University.  She was the secretary to a Michigan State Senator for 14 years and was an Executive Secretary at Michigan National Bank for another 14 years.  Currently, Sandy is semi-retired.

She is the mother of three and grandmother of five children.  Her hobbies include; flower arranging, community theater, knitting, and ballroom dancing.
