Our Community Sponsors have "Gone Green"
Lansing Board of Water & Light (BWL) has a strong commitment to environmental stewardship in the community which they serve. In 2008, they created the Hometown Energy Savers program to provide residential and business electric customers with services to help lower their energy usage and increase usage of renewable energy options.
Capital Area Transportation Authority (CATA) supports our community and our environment with their committment to promoting clean commute options. They host the annual Clean Commute Challenge that encourages people to walk, bike, ride or carpool. You can take some simple steps to cleaner air today!
Greater Lansing Convention & Visitors Bureau has been a partner since the beginning of the city's green efforts. They are working to enhance green practices that help make events and happenings in the Lansing community more environmentally sound. Their annual "Be A Tourist In Your Own Town" event includes stops at area recyclers and other 'green' businesses.
Lansing Community College is part of the green community! Their sustainability department hosts fun events for students such as Dumpster Day and Eco-Scholars day. They promote recycling, energy efficiency, alternative commuting and community involvement.
