Have a Parade
The City of Lansing has developed a pre-set parade route at a reduced cost to the applicant. The parade route is offered at a fee of $1500. This fee includes the fee for barricading, traffic control plan, and ROW permits. This fee does not include parking meter capping. The approved Rivertrail route is offered at a price of $75 per day and guarantees that no other event will be held adjacent to the applicants event. Any additional services provided may result in additional charges.
If you would like to prohibit vehicle parking on your route, you will want the parking meters capped. Review the Parking Meter Maps to determine what meters you need capped and indicate this on page 2 of the SEPA form. Please note: the Traffic Division of Public Service may require meter capping or additional meter capping at their discretion. The City reserves the right to review your event plans for vehicle/pedestrian conflicts and require meter caps where concerns are identified.
If you desire a different route, it can be made available for an additional fee. That fee will be calculated and presented when you have submitted your proposed route. Note that the City of Lansing does not have jurisdiction over all streets within the City Limits. Please indicate if your intended route will impact the following roads: Cedar Street, Larch Street, Saginaw Street, Oakland Avenue, Grand Avenue, Ottawa Street, Allegan Street, Capitol Avenue, and M.L. King Blvd.
