Lansing Parks and Recreation Lifetime Sports Office is committed to facilitating positive recreational sport opportunities for people of all ages that promote sportsmanship, a healthy lifestyle and a safe environment. Programs and leagues include:

The Sports Office is located at Foster Community Center, 2nd Floor, 200 North Foster Street, Lansing. Office Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday.
Meet Our Team
Mark Simon: Lifetime Sports Supervisor
Mark graduated from Olivet College with a Recreation Management major. While at Olivet, he played on the soccer and tennis teams and formed many close friendships that now extend across the country.
Mark worked for the Boys & Girls Club of Lansing for many years before working as a Community Center Programmer at Letts' Center. He now sees the children of his 'B&G Club and Letts kids' involved with the city's youth sports programs.
Mark is a high school and college basketball referee and is a member of the Capital Area Official Association (CAOA).
Mark moved to Lansing in 1986, and enjoys a wide variety of sports played by his family, which includes his wife, Trish, and sons, Jake & Mitch.
Mark handles the following sports leagues:
- Adult 50 & Over Basketball
- Adult Slow Pitch Softball
- Adult Tennis Leagues
- Girls High School Fast Pitch Softball
- School District 4th - 6th Grade Basketball
- Youth Basketball
- Youth Floor Hockey
- Youth Soccer (Spring and Fall Leagues)

Woody Willard: Interim Lifetime Sports Coordinator
Woody holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and communications from Eastern Michigan University. His is a familiar face at Lansing Parks and Recreation having officiated, score kept, and site supervised for numerous youth and adult leagues over the years.
Woody is a former American Legion baseball player as well as a youth soccer and baseball coach. During his college years he was a competitive cyclist with Rose City Velo of Jackson, Michigan.
Woody is a registered umpire with the Michigan Amateur Softball Association (MASA), and is an active sports official in softball, volleyball, and youth baseball.
Woody has lived in the Lansing area since 1998. When he’s not golfing, he enjoys spending down time with his wife and kids, camping, fly fishing, reading, mountain biking, and oh yes, anything Kentucky Basketball (Go Big Blue!)
