What's New Is Old

The Turner-Dodge classical revival house has undergone over 149 years of change.  In 1995, the Lansing Parks and Recreation Department completed Phase I of the project, the meticulous restoration of the exterior of the house to the turn-of-the 20th century era.  With a $120,000 grant from the Michigan Department of Industry and Consumer Services, and help from the Friends of Turner-Dodge, The City of Lansing completed a $360,00 interior restoration of the house in 2002. 

Phase II of the Restoration returned the interior of the house to its 1903 splendor.

The Friends of Turner-Dodge have developed a  gift catalogue based on research about the family and the period. The catalogue identifies items that are still needed for the home.

The Friends of Turner-Dodge arranged for a study of the wall coverings at the time of the 1903 renovation by Abby and Frank Dodge.   Now what you see when you come to visit is exactly the way the house looked then.  It is very elegant.
