The City has a sidewalk replacement program that spans over many years as funding becomes available. You can contact the Assistant City Engineer at 517-483-4455 to see if your sidewalk is scheduled for replacement. When the City replaces sidewalk, the adjacent property owner may be responsible for paying an assessment for the replacement.
