Purpose


CATA provides a variety of transportation services that are safe, timely and cost efficient, that respond to the diverse mobility needs of the region, and that are delivered by courteous employees. CATA's vision is to create a transit system that uses innovation to respond to the public transportation and mobility needs of the tri-county area,  enhancing the overall quality of life for our community.

Qualifications


The governing body of the Capital Area Transportation Authority is its Board of Directors, which is made up of members who are appointed by the political subdivisions that have membership in the Authority. The Board is based on the populations within the boundaries of each political subdivision and is made up of:
  • City of Lansing (4)
  • City of East Lansing (2)
  • Townships of Delhi (1)
  • Meridian (2)
  • Lansing (1)
