 Summer Taxes are due for on-time payment

 August 31st 2010 

     You may check your property taxes on-line.

 

Types of property tax - Real and Personal:

  • Home owners are typically responsible for real property tax.  Real property tax bills begin with 23, 33, 91, 96 or 97.  
  • Business owners located in Lansing can be responsible for real and personal property tax.  The personal property tax bills begin with 90, 94 or 95.

Property taxes are determined by:

  • multiplying the taxable value of the property by the millage rates
  • add any special assessments, recycling fee and/or any miscellaneous charges.
  • Multiply total by 1% for the administration fee, add to the total 

Summer property tax bills

  • Mailed on July 1st of each year
  • Due August 31st of that year
  • Any outstanding amount at September 1st will receive a one time penalty and interest fee of 3%.
  • Any outstanding amount as of October 30th will be placed on the winter tax bill. 

Winter property tax bills

  • M ailed on December 1st of each year
  • Due on February 14th of the following year.
  • Any outstanding amount at February 15 will receive a one time penalty and interest fee of 3%.
  • March 1st: Outstanding real property tax amounts will be sent to the County as delinquent for continued collection efforts.

 


 

 
 

 

Delinquent Real and Personal Property Tax Bills

Delinquent Real Property Taxes 

Real property tax bills begin with either "23", "33" ,"91", "96" or "97" must be paid to the County Treasurer. 

You must contact the County Treasurer to determine payoff amounts or status of outstanding taxes.

  • Contact Ingham County at 517.676.7220 for parcel numbers beginning with "33" ,"91", "96" or "97".
  • Contact Eaton County at 517.543.4262 for parcel numbers beginning  with "23". 

Delinquent Personal Property Taxes and other tax bills

Personal property tax beginning with "90" and special property tax bills beginning with "94" and "95" are payable to the City of Lansing.

Contact the City Treasurer's office for payoff amount or status of outstanding taxes.
