Mayor Virg Bernero joined Lansing School District Superintendent Yvonne Caamal Canul and MSUFCU Chief Operating Officer April Clobes for the launch of Lansing SAVE – Student Accounts Valuing Education – a new program providing education savings accounts for kindergarteners in Lansing schools.
Lansing is ranked as a top 10 "Best Affordable Place to Live" by Livability.com. Home to insurance, biotech, higher ed, health care & auto industries, Lansing boasts diverse eateries, festivals, all-ages entertainment, Lugnuts baseball, affordable housing, farmers markets, & abundant parkland.
Lansing's monthly Mobile Food Pantry will be held at Lansing Catholic Central High School on Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 9:00-11:00 AM. The HRCS Department will be distributing free, non-perishable food items. Participants must bring a valid ID and a box or bag to carry the items.
Join us for the 28th Annual Bea Christy Community Celebration – a Lansing tradition celebrating great neighbors and civic engagement. Family, friends, neighbors, and community leaders will honor the award recipients and help showcase Lansing’s beautiful neighborhoods.

As part of a City/Lansing School District partnership against bullying, the Mayor established the "Upstander Awards" program to recognize students who meet established criteria like peacefully standing up to bullying. The awards will include small scholarships, which are being funded online.
